COVID19 studio update

Not much longer to wait – hopefully!

I don’t know about you but lockdown has been hard & I can’t believe I haven’t posted on here since April.  I have missed being behind my camera & getting to meet all your wonderful little people & helping to capture treasured memories.  I have, as you’ll have seen if you follow my Facebook page, kept my creative juices going with digital keepsakes & lockdown blackboards, so at least that’s kept me out of trouble (that & having my crazy toddler at home 24/7).

At the moment it looks like photography studios are allowed to open from 15th June.  I won’t be opening just yet as many of you know my studio is in my home, & so to keep my family safe I will be holding off opening until July. This will also give me the much needed time to give the studio a thorough deep clean & get rid of all those dust bunnies that have accumulated while it’s been out of action.

I will initially be opening my doors to sessions where I do not have to be in close contact with you or your little ones.  This will include new baby (older than 8wks) sessions, 6-9mth sitter sessions, birthday minis, cake smashes & wizarding minis.

The next step will be to look to opening the doors to newborns again but I feel that I will need to wait for when other ‘close contact’ businesses (e.g. hair dressers, beauticians) are allowed to open before I can do this.  The reason for this is that I always put your little one’s wellbeing & safety at the forefront of all that I do.  As newborn sessions require me to have close contact with your precious little one I will be following the Government guidelines & advice for when it is safe for me to do these sessions, & that time is not now.

I have always & will continue to ensure that my studio, props, outfits etc all meet my strict hygiene standards.  I will be leaving 72hrs between sessions to allow for deep cleaning of all surfaces & to rest props to minimise any risks.  I will have antibacterial hand gel available for clients to use & will continue to use it myself throughout the session.  I will also be wearing a washable face mask & if you would like too please feel free to wear your own to the session as well.  Shoes will have to be removed on arrival & I would ask that you bring the bare minimum with you, again to minimise any risks.  I will be asking all attending the session to use the hand gel on arrival & on departure.  Also at this time I do need to ask that only the baby/child that are being photographed & parents attend the session.

I will be monitoring my own health, & that of my family members, & I will be postponing any sessions should I become concerned that I or any of my family are displaying symptoms.  Likewise I would ask that anyone coming for a session does the same, & I will reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who may have symptoms or has been in contact with someone who does.  There will be no charge to postpone your session & I will offer you a new date in these circumstances, as all our safety is more important.

Sessions will be made available first to all those who had their sessions cancelled since lockdown began – if you haven’t already had an email from me please do drop me a message to arrange your session.

I truly cannot wait to get back to photographing your little ones, but only when it is safe to do so.
