Portsmouth baby photographer – Freya’s cake smash session

So it was a double whammy for me at the weekend with cake smash photoshoots!

The second cake smash I did was for the lovely Freya who turned one a couple of weeks ago.  Her Mummy wanted a girly, glitzy themed cake smash so the studio was covered in balloons, glitter and a gold sparkly backdrop.  Freya had a lovely ‘One’ top on which we teamed with one of my pink tutus.

Freya also brought along her big sister Lauren-Gracie who jumped in on a few of the photos and it was lovely to see how Freya dotes on her big sister.  Both girls really enjoyed themselves and by the end everyone was covered in cake!

Hampshire baby photographer – Amelia’s cake smash session

I just love when clients come back for more sessions as I adore getting to see babies I’ve worked with before and see how they are growing.  This weekend I welcomed back little Amelia who has just turned one!

I last saw Amelia when she was 2mths old but still hadn’t reached her due date as she decided to make an early appearance at just under 30wks gestation.  You can see her newborn photos here.

Being a winter baby Amelia’s Mummy asked for a Winter Wonderland themed cake smash and so we had an icy blue backdrop with giant snowflakes, and a snowflake cake to match.  Amelia really enjoyed the cake smash – especially the chocolate base!  Amelia also had her own ideas of how to round off a cake smash, by having a lovely roll in the smooshed up cake of course.

Hampshire baby photography – Parker’s Christmas mini session

Just when I thought my Christmas minis were over for the year I was contacted by Parker’s Mummy to see if I could squeeze him in, and of course I said yes!

Little Parker is only 7mths and not quite sitting yet but his Mummy was desperate to have some beautiful Christmas photos this year.  It was no problem for me as I had Parker’s Mummy sit with him, supporting him the whole time and then through the magic of Photoshop edited her out.

Parker took the whole thing very seriously but gave us some sneaky little smiles when he thought no one was looking.  However I just love his beautiful little serious face – showing the true innocence of children at Christmas.

Portsmouth baby photography – Eleanor’s portrait session

It was a cold, dreary day when I welcomed an absolute little ray of sunshine into the studio who really brightened my day!

The last time I saw Eleanor she was only 12 days old – you can see her newborn photo here.  I had previously photographed her big brother James so I was delighted to have them both back in the studio for Eleanor’s sitting baby photos.  James was a little shy to start with but once I showed him how to trigger the big studio flash and let him do it he decided this was a fun place and posed nicely for some photos on his own and with his baby sister.

Eleanor is an incredibly laid back, happy little lady.  She is so comfortable with strangers that she was happy to let me pose her which meant Mummy was able to sit back and relax a little.  I think her sneak peek shows her beautiful little personality perfectly!

Hampshire baby photography – NCT group photo

So this weekend I decided to really test myself and had my NCT group into the studio for a massive Christmas photoshoot!

Saturday morning arrived and along with it my NCT friends and their seven babies.  I had to photograph the babies in small groups as there was just no way I could get all eight babies into the studio at once.  We had a really fun time trying to get all the babies to look at the camera as they just wanted to play with their friends – especially my little one Oscar who just wanted to cuddle his friend Annie instead of look at Mummy!

After a few hours of festive fun, photographing the babies in Christmas outfits and different set-ups we were all done.  I was very impressed to have eight naked babies in the studio and only one puddle (which no one was owning up too – LOL!).
